Hey ,

Maddy here, Co-Founder at HIRO.

With our newest launch coming very soon, a product specifically designed for female health, I thought it was the perfect time to share a little more about my personal story of finding a love for health, because it wasn’t always easy.

When I was 14, I lost my beautiful mum to breast cancer. She was just 49. During that time I turned to food and developed a binge eating disorder as a way to cope with my emotions. As a result I hated my body, I hated exercise, and I hated myself.

After years of endless binging and restricting I knew I wanted and needed to make a change. And so I went to Bali (cliché I know), and took a two week vegan cooking course that changed everything.

Now I’m not a vegan, but I love plant-based foods, and this was the first time I began to fully understand nutrition and the healing powers of food.

When I came back to the UK, I poured all my energy into learning as much as I could about nutrition and movement, eventually becoming a spin instructor. This is when exercise and nutrition started making sense to me - that both are needed for real health and wellbeing.

And then HIRO was born, and thanks to my wonderful co-founder Fadi, I got the chance to turn my passion into a brand that helps people live their best, healthiest lives, every single day.

Now, we’re gearing up to launch something really close to my heart – a product designed specifically for female health. Can’t wait to share it with you soon.
