MOBILE

The rollout of DashPay on Android started in early November with a public beta; this was not published on the Play Store so that we could minimize risks of any major issues across a large user base. We published it to the Play store and rolled it out to all users over a two week period. This slow rollout to the store allowed us to gather feedback and monitor any critical issues without impacting too many users. The rollout of a point release was submitted to the Play Store to address crashes, ANR’s and other bug fixes and UI improvements. We expect multiple releases in December with more improvements to the voting screens and more bug fixes.

More instability was uncovered with the continued work on CoinJoin for Dash Wallet on iOS; we are optimistic that balance mixing on iOS is expected to be released in December as an open beta. Work also continued on the Rust libraries for DashPay on iOS; this has been a slower than expected journey but we are learning things from the Android deployment that should hopefully result in a more stable iOS version.

As always, if you are a Dash-accepting merchant, anywhere in the world, please submit the details of your location here and we will have you added to the Explore Dash inventory. Any merchant who gets two customers to tweet about a Dash purchase at your location will get a shout-out in a Dash Wallet message and on our social media. Just email our support team with the details of your post.

CORE TEAM UPDATES

We produced two Dash Core v22.0 release candidates in November to enable testing on devnets and testnet. Some minor issues were identified and resolved during testing. We expect Dash Core v22.0 to be released in the second week of December, pending the completion of testing.

Meanwhile, work on upcoming releases continued in parallel with Dash Core v22.0 testing. Our efforts included toolchain modernization to use newer versions of GCC and Clang while also backporting changes necessary to move from C++17 to C++20. Additionally, we are migrating continuous integration (CI) testing to GitHub Actions for improved efficiency and cost reductions. Finally, single-node quorum support has progressed to a conceptual review. This feature will help streamline local Dash Platform installs used by developers.

Our development consisted of over 60 pull requests in November, including bug fixes, optimizations, and general code improvements. Bitcoin backports continued with completion at 93% for v22.0, 62% for v23.0, 36% for v24.0, 24% for v25.0, and 23% for v26.0.

PRODUCT

Work continued on the redesign of the dash.org website and the search goes on for new partners that want to build on Platform. Whilst we do not have any partners committed yet, we are seeing interest from payments, DEFI and development platforms.

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT & MARKETING

We launched a partnership with social media site INLEO, which now supports an option to sign up with a Dash wallet, pay for features in Dash, and earn in Dash for social media postings. We launched PR and marketing campaign with INLEO which involved a press release and numerous social postings from our end, and the INLEO team matched our spend with advertising on X and other platforms. We also appeared on Mondays with Maya (since the Maya Protocol is a facilitator of payouts in Dash), and were featured in numerous articles in several languages covering the launch:

We facilitated a merchant listing API data partnership between CurPay, a Dash-accepting merchant point-of-sale provider, and Cryptwerk, a cryptocurrency merchant listing site. As we facilitate more similar partnerships, we hope to be able to draw on this as a data source for the merchant map in the DashPay wallet.

We also did promotional spaces with iYield, ChangeNOW, and CoinRabbit, and appeared on the Retail Roundtable segment of CryptoCoinMindSet, as well as WDEV radio:

Finally, we appeared on two Web3 Global X spaces and several Xcohost spaces:

DASH SUPPORT

This has been quite a remarkable year for the support desk at Dash Core Group! Not only did we surpass the monumental milestone of 25,000 tickets, but we also maintained a steady pace, ensuring timely and effective support for our users. With each new release—especially through our mobile integrations that streamline user interactions with the support desk—we’ve dedicated ourselves to solving issues efficiently while working closely with the mobile team to enhance the overall experience.

However, beyond celebrating this year’s achievements, it’s important to reflect on a significant milestone: the support desk turned eight years old this year! While the first contracts for team members were signed in 2017, the seeds for this initiative were planted in 2016 by Fernando, who was juggling multiple roles at the time. He envisioned a client-facing support desk—making Dash the first, and to our knowledge, the only crypto project to have such a resource at that time.

Inspired by Fernando’s vision, Slawek and I, both active community members, eagerly stepped up to help bring this idea to life. Back then, it was a leap of faith—a hope for Dash’s growth and a desire to provide tangible value to the community. Reflecting on those early days, from setting up tools and defining service-level agreements to establishing team workflows, it’s incredible to see how much progress we’ve made. We’ve evolved not just in process but in purpose, transforming into a cornerstone of the Dash ecosystem.

The journey hasn’t been without its challenges or adventures. From the meteoric rise of Dash in 2017—which brought an unexpected deluge of support tickets—to the crypto renaissance we’re currently navigating, the support desk has grown alongside Dash. It all started with two community members and a dream. If you’d told me back then that I’d be writing this letter eight years later, I might not have believed you. Yet here we are, still going strong.

As we move through December and into a new year, one thing remains clear: the support desk is here for the community. Whether you’re a long-time user or a newcomer, you can count on us to address your concerns quickly and effectively. We’re not just a tool for Core; we’re the resource for engaging with and assisting the community. Day in and day out, we connect with people in their moments of need, and that’s where we excel.

Here’s to the next chapter in our journey together.
