Hi ,

You may have seen us say that “Dry January is cancelled,” and I wanted to share a little more behind that sentiment.

January often takes good intentions and turns them into rigid rules. Especially around alcohol, it can frame change as something temporary or extreme, which makes it hard to keep up. With 92% of you telling us you still identify as occasional alcohol drinkers, we wanted to push back on the idea that caring for yourself has to feel restrictive to be meaningful. At Ghia, we believe the habits that last are the ones that feel supportive and flexible — moderation (!).

Drinking was never really about alcohol to begin with. It’s about ritual, connection, and slowing down together. About marking moments, big or small.

Most days after work, I have a Ghia as my transition drink: one part Ghia Apéritif, two parts sparkling water. I love that routine. It helps me slow down and mark the shift between day and evening. Most days, I’m clear, energetic, and steady — and that’s been true for seven years now.

So this January, however you’re approaching the month — fully dry, cutting back, or simply being more mindful — I’m cheering you on. There’s no single right way. Just what feels right for you.

If Ghia can be part of that, we’re extending our 30% off your first subscription offer through the month. And if you’re hosting, gathering, or restocking, you can also find us on Amazon or at many retailers near you.

Endless cheers,
Mélanie
