Viva Las Vegas volumes

SONAR Tickers: OTRI.LAS, OTVI.LAS

Highlights

Outbound tender rejections took a dive in Las Vegas, from 11.88% to 4.73%, a 775-basis-point decrease week over week.

Outbound tender volumes took the opposite approach, rising to the highest levels for the entire year even after dropping 2.5% from OTVI’s peak.

Despite the high OTVI, capacity is sill readily available in Las Vegas as the OTRI continues to plummet. Spot rates will leave a lot to be desired for carriers compared to previous weeks in July.

Quotable

“We are focused on minimizing the freight market’s impact on our operations while investing in and positioning our operations to capitalize on profitable organic growth opportunities, with fair compensation for our premium services, across each of our business operations for what comes next in the freight cycle as the market moves toward equilibrium from its current recessionary late stages,”

— Randolph Marten, executive chairman of the board, Marten Transport
