The Contract I Signed With Myself

I used to think success was about working harder than everyone else.

When I started my first eCommerce business, I came from nothing—no safety net, no plan B.

But I made a contract with myself: I would work any hours necessary to ensure I never had to check price tags again.

Ever.

My motivation was simple—money.

I wanted the freedom to eat whatever I wanted, go wherever I wanted, and take care of the people I cared about.

So when Facebook arbitrage presented itself in 2012—when you could fight for cheap clicks, shares, and likes—I went all in.

It was a gold rush of attention, and I knew exactly how to turn it into revenue.

That contract with myself?
It worked.

A year or two later, I hit my financial goal.

I could afford anything I wanted.

But then the real question hit me like a bus:

What now?

Money got me started, but it wasn’t enough to keep me going.

That’s when I realized something crucial.

The Problem with Only Chasing Money

The problem with money as your sole driver is that once you have enough, your fire starts to simmer down.

I had to rethink everything.

If money was no longer the goal, then what was?

I had to figure out what made me excited to wake up and do the work—beyond the financial rewards.

Because the only way to keep leveling up without losing my mind was to tap into something bigger.

The Framework That Kept Me Growing

If you’ve ever hit a goal and felt a little… empty after, here’s what worked for me:

Define Your Next-Level Purpose – Money gives you options, but purpose gives you direction. What would you chase if cash weren’t an issue? What problem genuinely excites you to solve?
Set the Next Contract – My first contract was about financial freedom. My second was about building something meaningful that kept me sharp and engaged. What’s the next agreement you need to make with yourself?
Align Your Goals with Your Energy – The wrong goals drain you. The right ones pull you forward. Instead of forcing discipline, choose ambitions that light you up.
Keep Raising the Stakes – The moment you feel stagnant, it’s time to expand. Bigger risks, bigger challenges, bigger rewards. Growth comes from playing a game worth your full effort.

Putting It All Together

The biggest lesson?

Your drive has to evolve, or you’ll burn out.

Money gets you in the game, but purpose keeps you playing at your best.

So, what’s the contract you’re signing with yourself next?

Hit reply and let me know—I read every message.

To unstoppable growth.
