Santa Cruz V10 Downhill MTB in Gloss Kelp Green

New V10 Goes Hard

This Is Real Fast Fashion

Perhaps inspired a little bit by the Skitch or very fast cars, the V10’s newest color is mild and wild all at once. We’re biased, but the Kelp Green and Gnartruese V10 that just dropped is gorgeous. Whether standing still or tearing down a trail, it looks right. There’s also a new S-kit build with RockShox bouncers front and rear.

Annie Ford setting a Guinness World Record on her Santa Cruz V10 in Gloss Kelp Green

Annie Ford’s Stock Bike For Non-stock Endeavors

55,727m

This might not be your first time seeing the Kelp Green color scheme. Annie Ford was the first to receive a V10 draped in that less-than-drab green, and she has already racked up more miles of descending than maybe anyone will this year. Her Guinness World Record for most descending in 24 hours (55,727m) required a special bike, but not that special. Everything she used is standard, off-the-shelf equipment: massive 220mm rotors with SRAM Maven brakes, RockShox Boxxer and Vivid Air, and a Pademelon steering damper. She went through a lot of brake pads and three rotors, but that’s it. The V10 might be a race bike, but it’s still made to last many lifetimes.

Sources Of Creativity, Inspiration And Distraction

I was supposed to write something about technical product knowledge–possibly the difference between actual and effective seat tube angles or anti-rise kinematic curvature ratios. But I’m just not feeling it this week. Instead, I'm sharing a few fun, non-bike sources of inspiration and entertainment.
