5-Bullet Friday

The latest from author and investor Tim Ferriss

Hi All!

Here is your weekly dose of 5-Bullet Friday, a list of what I’m pondering and exploring. Feel free to forward along if the spirit moves you.

This edition is brought to you by Momentous. Be sure to see their offer in the P.S.

What I’m listening to and watching

“Playing God, Unplugged.” Guitarist Tim Henson of Polyphia is a different species.

Fight I’m studying

Rodtang vs. Superlek. Billed as “the biggest Thai boxing fight of all time,” this short fight showcases many weapons of Muay Thai, including the sharpest: elbows. The art of eight limbs is the fullest of full-contact, especially with MMA gloves. I think the outcome was a robbery, but there’s no denying the action.

Podcast I’m watching

“Mark Zuckerberg: First Interview in the Metaverse” on The Lex Fridman Podcast. Even if you only watch the first five minutes, this is well worth the time. These next-gen, photo-realistic avatars and their motion tracking are truly jaw-dropping. The tech, and lag, are improving in leaps and bounds, and the future is going to get very weird very quickly.

What I’m using daily

The Five Minute Journal (Intelligent Change, Amazon). I use two types of journaling and alternate between them: Morning Pages and The Five Minute Journal. The former I use primarily for getting unstuck or problem-solving (what should I do?); the latter I use for prioritizing and gratitude (how should I focus and execute?). The only thing I dislike about The Five Minute Journal? Their lack of hyphenation.

Quote I’m pondering

“A mind all logic is like a knife all blade. It makes the hand bleed that uses it.”
— Rabindranath Tagore

You can complement this edition of 5-Bullet Friday with my video on how I journal and take notes, my conversation with Mark Zuckerberg, and my interview with UFC Hall of Famer Bas Rutten.

And, as always, please give me feedback on Twitter. Which bullet above is your favorite? What do you want more or less of? Other suggestions? Please let me know. Just send a tweet to @tferriss and put #5BulletFriday at the end so I can find it.

Have a wonderful weekend, all.

Much love to you and yours,

Tim

P.S. Deal of the Week — Momentous high-quality supplements!

Momentous offers high-quality supplements and products across a broad spectrum of categories, and I’ve been testing their products for months now. I’ve been using their magnesium threonate, apigenin, and L-theanine daily, all of which have helped me improve the onset, quality, and duration of my sleep. The Momentous Foundational Sleep Bundle conveniently includes all three products. I’ve also been using Momentous creatine, and while it certainly helps physical performance, including poundage or wattage in sports, I use it primarily for mental performance (short-term memory, etc.).

Their products are third-party tested (Informed Sport and/or NSF-certified), so you can trust that what is on the label is in the bottle and nothing else. Try Momentous for yourself and get 20% off with code Tim at LiveMomentous.com/Tim. And not to worry, my non-US friends, Momentous ships internationally and has you covered.
