This year has tested the bounds of democracy and what it means to be "American." Today we have a few stories that explore the idea of American-ness, starting off with a story from my colleague Zack Beauchamp, who lives in Canada, wondering if Canada is more "American" than the United States. Dylan Scott unpacks our annual Fourth of July tradition of consuming a large amount of ultra-processed foods. And the Today, Explained podcast team dives into the time that Disney tried to make a theme park about American history and why it never materialized.
